Founded in 1963, the STEP Council has a long-standing history of advancing emergency services education and collaboration across the Genesee Region. Building on decades of leadership in EMS innovation, training, and system improvement, STEP has reimagined its flagship event as the STEP Fire & EMS Conference—a modern, forward-focused conference designed to serve today’s fire and EMS professionals. This rebranding reflects an expanded commitment to integrated fire and emergency medical training, leadership development, and operational excellence. The STEP Fire & EMS Conference brings together instructors, practitioners, and decision-makers to deliver relevant, experience-driven education that meets the evolving challenges of the emergency services profession, while staying true to STEP’s mission of strengthening the systems that protect our communities.
