Our Partners
Monroe County Fire Bureau
Since 2024, the Monroe County Fire Bureau has been a vital partner of the STEP Fire & EMS Conference. The Fire Bureau is committed to providing assistance to Monroe County’s Fire Departments through its collaboration and partnership on critical incidents that affect the delivery of fire-based emergency services within the community. Specifically, the Fire Bureau facilitates the delivery of County and State firefighter training, manages a County-wide Hazardous Materials Response Team and Special Operations Unit, and assists with incident coordination at large-scale events. The Fire Bureau also manages the Fire Investigation Unit in partnership with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to determine the origin and cause of fires when requested by any of the Monroe County Fire Departments outside of the City of Rochester.
Public Safety Training Facility
Opening in 2001, the Public Safety Training Facility, PSTF, became a leading example of agency interoperability. The PSTF is the result of a cooperative effort between Monroe Community College, the County of Monroe, and the City of Rochester to provide a state-of-the-art training facility. This facility provides consistent, responsive, professional, and high-quality training in one central location for Police, Fire, and EMS agencies.
Monroe County Fire Chiefs Association
The Monroe County Fire Chiefs Association, MCFCA, was formed in 1953 to provide support and development for the Fire Chiefs of Monroe County. Much like the STEP Council, the MCFCA is actively rebranding its mission to provide every fire department in Monroe County with the resources they need to thrive in today’s environment. It is the MCFCA commitment to the professional growth of current and future fire service leaders that brings our two organizations together. Together, we are committed to bringing high-caliber leadership development speakers and educational opportunities to STEP Fire & EMS Conference attendees.
