An Organ Systems-Based Approach to Falls Assessment

May 9th at 2:45 PM

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury and loss of independence in adult and geriatric patients—and EMS and nursing professionals are often the first to evaluate them. This dynamic, case-based session delivers a practical, organ system–based approach to fall assessment, equipping clinicians to quickly identify high-risk conditions such as stroke, arrhythmias, orthostatic hypotension, medication effects, and neurologic or vestibular disorders. Participants will gain hands-on strategies for integrating history, physical exam findings, and targeted diagnostics into clear clinical decision-making. Leave with actionable tools to improve patient safety, reduce repeat falls, and strengthen outcomes across the continuum of care.
